Hainan Lijin 2023 Milan Design Week
Invited by the organizers of 2023 Milan Design Week, commissioned by the Hainan Provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television, and Sports, and entrusted by the European Expo Service Company, we participated in immersive digital cultural exchange activities showcasing the Li Jin culture of Hainan.
To showcase the cultural richness of Li Jin costumes in Hainan, we focus our content creation on the iconic Li Jin patterns and employ artistic techniques of new media to revitalize the traditional patterns.
Utilizing 3D projection technology, we merge multiple projection images, two stereoscopic mannequins, and costumes through laser projection devices and software algorithms, creating a dynamic three-dimensional rendition of Li brocade patterns. For active participation in Li Jin creation, viewers can utilize the real-time interactive system and on-site touch screen to select and design patterns, crafting their unique Li Jin costumes. The results are directly showcased on the projection screen, facilitating an immersive interactive experience for Li Jin culture to engage with the world.
